Subscriber Tips

Q. When do I call the Central Station?

A. The only time the Central Station should be called is to put the account on test, to have the signals of the alarm testing read back, and to cancel a false alarm.

Q. When do I call my dealer?

A. If you have any questions regarding operating your alarm system, if you would like to make a change to your account information, or get service for your alarm system.

Q. What if I forgot my password?

A. Unfortunately, the central station cannot be of much help in this matter. What we can do, is give you the telephone number of your dealer. They are the only people that can give you your valid passcode, password or account number.

Q. What is an account number?

A. An account number is used to obtain any information on an account. The dealer gives this number to the subscriber when the account is put online. Not all dealers give customers their account number; some dealers prefer giving a passcode or password.

Q. What is a Low Battery Signal?

A. A low battery can describe a number of conditions. It generally means that a battery used to supply power or back up power to your alarm panel or devices is low on power. Please refer to your dealer, should you need additional information.

Q. What is an AC Loss?

A. When an AC Loss is received, it means that the power has been interrupted to the alarm panel. Operators are not allowed to discuss any technical information with the customer.

Q. What is a cancel code?

A. A cancel code holds two meanings. From the dealer’s point of view, a cancel code refers to the code that is entered into the alarm panel to turn the system on/off or to silence the alarm panel after an activation. From the Central Station’s point of view, a cancel code can mean the same as a Valid ID, Password or Passcode. When calling back to the premises after an alarm activation, the operator will ask the subscriber for an “Alarm Cancellation Code."
